Climate Class - Bring on the cool future!

The project “Klasse Klima – her mit der coolen Zukunft“ (Climate Class – Bring on the cool future!) brings climate protection to schools. In creative workshops, project days and study groups, trained multipliers between the ages of 18 and 27 work together with pupils from the 5th grade upwards to address issues of climate change.

What does a climate-friendly life look like? What kind of behaviour is particularly effective in protecting the climate? Who is responsible for climate change?

Exploring these and many other questions will help students take action to protect the climate - in their personal lives, at school and through political engagement.

Bring climate protection to your school!

Members of the BUNDjugend Leipzig are also trained as multipliers in the "Climate Class" project and will be happy to hold project days at your school on the basics of climate change and its consequences of climate change, as well as on the topics of mobility, food, energy, consumption and climate justice. Please use the form below to send your request to the "Climate Class" team.

Costs: upon request

Multiplier Workshop

Once a year, the BUNDjugend Leipzig offers a multiplier training for young people between 18 and 27 who are living in Saxony. During this workshop weekend, you will learn the necessary methods and contents to be able to organise and carry out your own project days and workshops at schools.

After the training, you will have the opportunity to become part of the "Climate Class" team and get involved directly as a multiplier in climate education.

Together with 19 other participants, you will gain a deeper insight into climate education concepts, sharpen your educational skills, as well as refresh and expand your knowledge on the topic of climate protection. In addition, we will try the material of the "Climate Class" project. This way you can directly experience what it feels like to be a multiplier. The main topics of the training are climate justice, climate change, climate protection, environmental psychology and project methods.

As soon as a new training is scheduled, we will inform you about the details here and on our social media channels.

Please use the form below to register for the training. As the workshop is limited to 20 participants, we reserve the right to make an internal selection in the event of too many registrations.

Background information

In the "Climate Class" project, young committed people organise creative workshops, project days and study groups as a climate education offer for pupils from the 5th grade onwards. These projects deal with the causes and consequences of climate change, the topics of mobility, nutrition, energy, consumption and climate justice as well as very practical climate protection at the individual and school level - and beyond.

The project “Climate Class – Bring on the Cool Future!” was funded by the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMU) from February 2019 to January 2022. During this period, the "Forschungszentrum Jülich GmbH" was also involved as the project management organisation. Since the end of the project period on the 31st of January 2022, the "Climate Class" project has been continued by committed volunteers.
